Day of the Seafarer 2025
Today (25 June) is designated as the Day of the Seafarer. It is an official United Nations international observance day that was established in 2010 in order to “recognize the unique contribution made by seafarers from all over the world to international seaborne trade, the world economy and civil society as a whole.”
This year’s theme is: My Harassment-Free Ship

Mariners can share their experiences and images related to feeling safe in their work environment. This can be done via social media by using the hashtag #MyHarassmentFreeShip
Organizations and the general public are also encouraged to participate.
