Mamala Bay (2025)
Mamala Bay is the latest addition to the Hawaii Pilots Association’s fleet of pilot boats.
She is named after Māmala Bay, which encompasses the waters off the south shore of O‘ahu between Kalaeloa (Barbers Point) and Lē‘ahi (Diamond Head).

Three individual engines; what is the total horse power?
According to Captain Ed Enos, 900 HP total.
Congratulations to the Pilots for “buying American.” She was delivered this year by North River Boats of Roseburg OR, who had previously built the slightly smaller HANAKAHI for them in 2020. HANAKAHI appears to no longer be in service.
I believe the HANAKAHI is still in use.
Perhaps she’s been put under state license. Her documents expired in January.
