Fraught With Danger – May 1907
The life of a maritime worker can be a hazardous one. Throughout history, accidents or physical violence at sea or on shore resulted in various types of injuries or sometimes even death.
As noted in the 14 May 1907 issue of The Hawaiian Star, a sailor was injured in an accident:

HAWAIIAN SAILOR HURT.
Sam Stone, a Hawaiian sailor on the Kinau, was removed to the Queen’s hospital yesterday with a wrenched foot and injured shoulder. He was caught between two planks last Friday and neglected to give attention to his hurts.


It only gets worse with time. Back then they didn’t have the threat of paper cuts and computer-face.
