Time to Move Some Stuff

Space is at a premium at Piers 24 and 25 in Honolulu Harbor. In order to load or unload Pacific Shipyards International’s new dry dock Hō‘ola I Nā Moku, some shifting of vessels and the shipyard’s smaller dry dock is required.

Foss tugs Mikioi and Pi‘ilani move the US Navy’s YRBM-32 from Pier 25 to Pier 29A. YRBM is an acronym for “Yard Repair Berthing and Messing.” Basically a small building on a barge, YRBM’s provide temporary living quarters and workspaces for naval personnel. 15 January 2018.

After YRBM-32 was secure at Pier 29A, Mikioi and Pi‘ilani returned right away to Pier 25 for PSI’s smaller dry dock, Kekaulana. 15 January 2018.
