The Hamilton-class USCGC Sherman was decommissioned at US Coast Guard Base Honolulu on 29 March 2018.
Sherman was built at Avondale Shipyards in Louisiana and commissioned on 3 September 1968. She was named after John Sherman (1823–1900), who was the US Secretary of the Treasury from March 1877 to March 1881 and US Secretary of State from March 1897 to April 1898.
