Greenpeace’s Arctic Sunrise
Greenpeace’s ship, Arctic Sunrise, is scheduled to arrive in Honolulu Harbor on Thursday, 11 October 2018. The ship will be tied up at Pier 12, which is located ‘Ewa of Aloha Tower near the intersection of Nu‘uanu Avenue and Nimitz Highway.
The public is invited to free tours of the ship from 1000 to 1700 (5:00 p.m.) on the following dates:
Saturday, 13 October
Sunday, 14 October
Saturday, 27 October
Sunday, 28 October
If you are interested in visiting the ship on one of these days, the organization requests that you RSVP. This can be done via the Greenpeace website. Please note that the ship is a working vessel, so dress appropriately and wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes.
Arctic Sunrise has been conducting research in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch on her way to Hawai‘i from the US West Coast.
