Ile de Sein

Ile de Sein (IMO 9247039) is a cable ship owned and operated by Alcatel Submarine Networks.

In 2011, the ship was involved in the recovery of the “black boxes” (the flight data recorder and the cockpit voice recorder) from the wreckage of Air France Flight 447.

Air France Flight 447 departed from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 31 May 2009. While on its way to Paris, France, the aircraft crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on 1 June 2009. All 216 passengers and 12 crew members were killed.
