MAKO is a 45-footer, made of aluminum by Delta Bay Craft Inc., Belle Chasse LA in 1981. Many small builders entered the boatbuilding market when oilfield was booming in the 1970’s, but when drilling crashed in the 1980’s many yards closed and many boats were sold for pennies on the dollar. I can’t see whether this boat was originally built for someone else or had a previous name, but by 1989 she was one of Ship Service’s earliest boats and remains working for them some 35 years later.
