Single Point Mooring (SPM) Buoy
The Single Point Mooring (SPM) buoy is part of an offshore terminal system located off Barbers Point (O‘ahu). Liquid petroleum products are transferred between (to or from) tankers and the onshore refinery facility via undersea pipelines connected to the SPM.
When a tanker is moored at the SPM terminal, hoses from the buoy are connected to the cargo pumping system on the ship. Once this is done, the transfer of the cargo can begin.

I’m guessing they have two of those buoys and trade them out when they need servicing. The big vessels are glamorous, but this little stuff is where the individual can really record history not recorded anywhere else. Thank you.
