This is another fascinating Honolulu workboat. She’s also from the oilfield collapse, built by Eastern Marine of Panama City FL in 1982. Begun for an offshore operator I haven’t determined, she was completed to carry oil spill recovery equipment for Offshore Tanker Marine of Ventura CA, to be a standby vessel for the offshore platforms and moorings. Her name was MR. CLEAN II, but about 1990 she was replaced by a vessel of that same name and sold. She was brought to the Islands by Chevron USA of Ewa Beach and renamed CLEAN ISLANDS. Later the Clean Islands Council assumed ownership of her. They sold her in 2018 and she was briefly named SOS MINNOW for Sustainable Ocean Systems Inc, but her present owners picked her up in 2020 and named her KAHI.

      Hi George,

Thanks for all of the information! I didn’t know about anything pre-CLEAN ISLANDS.
