Hālau Holomoana 2018–2019

Kānehūnāmoku Voyaging Academy is now accepting applications for its Hālau Holomoana maritime training program.

Captain Ed Enos of the Hawaii Pilots Association writes:

Time to SHARE this info with others (in Hawai‘i, all islands). This is an opportunity of a lifetime for Hawai‘i’s school juniors and seniors to receive an excellent education to further understand their Hawaiian culture and its deep ties with the ocean. They simultaneously get serious training in navigation, safety, seamanship, sailing, and other subjects that are important to their career path. All this in a fun, exciting environment with dedicated staff and instructors. Students will participate in tours of maritime facilities, go aboard local tugs and/or ships, and meet with working professional mariners to have one on one discussions about working in a maritime career today.
