Marie H with Dioskouroi

Marie H and Dioskouroi

Marie H arrives in Honolulu Harbor with barge Dioskouroi. 28 July 2018.

Boyer Towing’s tug Marie H paid a short visit to Honolulu Harbor. She was on her way to Kwajalein with the barge Dioskouroi, which was carrying a load of rocks and some construction equipment.

There is an interesting story behind the name Dioskouroi. The barge is actually constructed out of two “twin” barges. In Greek and Roman mythology, Dioskouroi (Dioscuri in Latin) referred to the twin demigods Kastor (Castor) and Polydeukes (Pollux).
