Grand Princess (1998) Returns

Princess Cruises’ ship Grand Princess (IMO 9104005) arrived in Honolulu Harbor from Los Angeles, California on 9 January 2022. She is the first ship to bring passengers to Hawai‘i since a “No Sail Order” was issued by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on 14 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After leaving Honolulu, the ship will call at Nawiliwili, Lahaina, and Hilo.

In March 2020, Grand Princess made national news when she arrived off California after sailing from Hawai‘i, but was refused entry into San Francisco Bay due to passengers and crew members testing positive for COVID-19. Eventually, the ship was allowed to dock in Oakland, where the passengers disembarked and were sent to quarantine for two weeks in various locations.
