100 Years Ago – Vacation at Last

Upon the recommendation of Chairman [Lyman H.] Bigelow, of the harbor board, the commissioners voted in favor of granting to Miss Cecile Fahey, stenographer for the board, eight weeks vacation on full pay. For two years she has been working continuously without a vacation. (Honolulu Advertiser, 29 August 1918.)
